HCPT is a charitable organisation, founded in response to Our Lady’s invitation to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes. Our aim is to enable those who may need help, especially the young, to experience pilgrimage, and we do this in small caring groups, seeking to share with joy, the gift of God’s Love.
Group 183 was started in 2013, and is part of the Welwyn Garden City parish, taking disabled and disadvantaged children away to Lourdes.
HCPT is set up in small family groups up and down the country, each having their own number and colour uniform. Ours is 183 and who could miss our amazing (ugly) trousers.
The group is made up of a group leader, a deputy leader, a nurse, a priest, helpers and of course children and young adults.
All our helpers, including the leaders and the nurse, are volunteers who give up their time for free and pay for their own travel.
None of this would be possible without the support of the W.G.C. parish, from volunteering to look after the children to raising money to fund the children’s trip.
We have been extremely fortunate to be able to expand each year, giving more children and young adults a chance to experience this amazing pilgrimage.
If you would like to learn more, volunteer or know a child who would benefit from traveling with us please contact Emma Moore (Group Leader)
